Purposes and legal basis for the processing of your personal data

The City of Copenhagen has adopted a climate strategy with the goal of reducing the climate footprint both within the municipality and from the global emissions linked to Copenhageners’ consumption. The purpose of the survey is to improve our knowledge of Copenhageners’ behavior, knowledge, and attitudes in relation to climate change. Your answers help us understand how the municipality can best address climate challenges and create solutions that make sense for citizens.

The processing of your personal data is based on the General Data Protection Regulation, Article 6(1)(e), Article 9(2)(f), Section 11(1), and Article 17(3)(d) and Article 89(2).

Storage of your information

Data is stored to enable analysis. It may be shared for statistical or scientific purposes in other studies, including within the municipality. If shared, your personal data will continue to be processed in compliance with data protection regulations.

We process your questionnaire responses together with information obtained from registers, such as gender, age, employment, and ethnic background. This additional data is used to ensure the results are as robust and comprehensive as possible.

Data is deleted when it no longer has societal relevance, in accordance with the purpose of the survey.

The survey results will be published in a form that prevents your responses from being traced back to you, and they will not be used for case processing or control.

Your participation

You accept participation in the survey when you begin completing the electronic questionnaire. Your responses are saved continuously and will be included in the survey, whether the questionnaire is fully or partially completed. However, you can change your responses until you click “finish.” You can withdraw from the survey until it closes for responses on October 8, 2025.
