Copenhagen Solutions Lab

  • Intelligent LED lighting helps reduce CO2 emissions
  • Detailed knowledge of the city's environment and climate forms the basis for planning and prioritizing efforts.
  • LEDs in the cycle path connected with the lightning signal tell the cyclists whether they can catch the green light.
  • Knowledge of movement patterns and how the city is used is important in the development of the city.
  • Intelligent traffic solutions ensure an easy and fast way through the city.
  • Experiments with sensors, which indicate whether the waste bin is to be emptied will in the future streamline workflows and increase the level of service
Copenhagen Solutions Lab develops and tests data-driven solutions that meet the city's needs and make it a great place to live.

As the population grows,  so do the challenges of keeping Copenhagen both wonderful and clean, and making it the best possible setting for day-to-day life. The ‘smart city’ concept is one way of achieving this, with data-driven solutions designed to develop Copenhagen and meet the challenges faced by any growing urban conurbation, e.g. sensors indicating vacant parking spaces, or bins that announce when they need emptied.

Copenhagen Solutions Lab plays a key role in this smart city work. It maintains a constant dialogue with companies and knowledge producers, and has its finger on the pulse when it comes to the challenges the city faces from day to day. Copenhagen Solutions Lab uses the city as a framework for systematic and targeted experiments in the urban labs 'Street Lab', 'UNDERBROEN' and 'Innovatorium', developing, testing and demonstrating solutions that will benefit the city, Greater Copenhagen and the whole of Denmark.
